I’m Clocking K’s for R U OK?

This July, I’m joining K’s for R U OK? to stay connected, develop healthy habits and help to create a world where we're connected and protected from suicide.

Each week I'll be consistent in my clocking as I walk (run, wheel or ride) to help start more life-changing conversations.

By donating to my page you are helping R U OK? provide free, essential resources to schools, workplaces, families, and communities across Australia. Giving them the tools and confidence to spot the signs and to start a conversation that could change the life of someone who's struggling. And you'll be putting a big smile on my face.

Thank you so much.

By inspiring people to take the time to ask “Are you OK?” and listen, we can help people struggling with life to feel connected long before they even think about suicide.

R U Ok?

Thursday 25th Jul
As  the month comes to an end I thought I'd reflect on my month and  why I do this.
I was a last minute entrant for K's for R U Ok? after I saw a post on my workplace intranet. There were numerous reasons why I could have opted not to participate. We moved house this month which is always a big job and I work shift work which is a challenge in itself. I set myself a goal of walking 100km's for the month which I knew would prove a challenge.
My motivation for supporting R U Ok? is simple. If I can help 1 person by raising awareness, funds or by asking R U Ok? then it is worth it. This is why I've walked.
I feel like my 100km challenge and the way that I've tackled it can also be linked to the R U Ok? message. Some days I've walked by myself but I've also been supported by my wife, kids, dogs and a workmate. This has been a team effort. With some wet weather and the house move my 100km target felt a long way off half way through the month but I stayed focused on my goal. I don't normally enjoy walking but I really have enjoyed walking by myself or talking with those walking with me.
Setting a goal like this has also made me prioritise my physical health which can only be a good thing. I only have 13km's to go to reach my goal and will likely reach it with a few days to spare.
A huge thanks to those that have donated.
Look out for each other.
Be nice.
