I’m Clocking K’s for R U OK?

This July, I’m joining K’s for R U OK? to stay connected, develop healthy habits and help to create a world where we're connected and protected from suicide.

Each week I'll be consistent in my clocking as I walk, (run, roll or ride) to help start more life-changing conversations.

By donating to my page you are helping R U OK? provide free, essential resources to schools, workplaces, families, and communities across Australia. Giving them the tools and confidence to spot the signs and to start a conversation that could change the life of someone who's struggling. And you'll be putting a big smile on my face.

Thank you so much.

By inspiring people to take the time to ask “Are you OK?” and listen, we can help people struggling with life to feel connected long before they even think about suicide.

My Updates

So close!

Thursday 27th Jul
With only a few days left my goal draws near. Only 30km left to reach my goal of running 500km in July. Achievable? Most definitely! The plan is to complete 495 tomorrow. This will enable me to run my last 5km at parkrun. Why parkrun? parkrun is an inclusive, positive & welcoming community where you you can walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate. Conversations ensue & friendships are made. A perfect place to connect with your local community and improve your physical & mental health.

Half Time!

Thursday 13th Jul

Day 13 and I have run 242km, almost half my goal of 500km! The legs are getting tired, but the goal remains and the end is in sight.

Running on tired legs is nothing compared to the anguish of depression or feeling lost and alone. It is the least I can do to promote the importance of positive mental health.

I encourage you to be aware of those around you, your colleagues, family and friends, it takes only a minute to show you care and ask R U OK?

On the other side, how is your mental health? There is no shame in reaching out when you are struggling. Just talking can make all the difference. Often verbalizing your thoughts is the beginning of improving your mental health. It's Ok to not be OK. We all have trials and difficult times, sometimes you need a little support. Don't be afraid to reach out and seek help.

Why Ks for R U OK?
Connecting with our community has a positive effect on mental health. We all have times in our lives where we struggle and need people around us. A kind word or willing ear can make all the difference to someone’s day. R U OK encourages us to connect with our communities and support each other. A conversation may change the trajectory of thought.

Why run 500km?
Running is my down time from a busy life. Running with a friend or friends can evoke conversation and connection. Running solo provides opportunity to clear the head & reset.

I like a challenge!
Currently I average 90km per week. My goal will have me run 113km per week. An extra 3km per day….less than 20mins!

Please support me in my endeavour. By doing so you may just change someone’s life.

The goal!

Saturday 3rd Jun
Currently I run 80 - 100kms per week.
For the month of July I am going to run a total of 500kms.
My km log will begin on July 1st, so until then you will see 0km logged.

Please support me in this endeavor and donate to R U OK
