Breaking Sad

Halfway update!

Halfway update - K's for R U OK? challenge

This weekend we headed out on two big nature walks, with todays walk ending on a secluded beach that was just perfect for some acro yoga moves.

We've currently raised $464 out of our $1000 target for the month, which means we're right on track! James has completed 63kms of his target 100km target, which is above target and Nadine is joining in periodically so has done approximately 30km.

If you can spare anything to donate to this cause, it would mean a lot to me and of course those of whom will benefit from funding for more mental health awareness.

Remember, you don't need to be qualified to ask someone if they're ok. Think of it the same way as helping someone with a broken leg do some tasks around their home. Sometimes we just need some assistance mentally/emotionally in the same way it's obvious when we need help physically. There's nothing wrong with that, it's simply part of being human.

Big love. 🤟

Week 1 Update

Well what a start... Or not. Sydney weather and it's relentless rain meant that there was limited time to get out and walk or run. BUT as soon as that sun came out it was go time. James hit a local oval and did some laps. Nadine isn't much of a runner, but has a routine with her PT as well as aerial flexibility fitness.

What has been great, is the conversation starters this challenge has promoted. Some of you sharing your stories, and James having multiple guys reaching out to share recent challenges they've had with mental health. This also sparked new pathways of conversation and in all honesty, further cementing those friendships.

Being vulnerable together shows a sense of trust, and that of course helps foster great, healthy, supportive relationships.

We're Clocking K’s for R U OK? With a mission to break that sad!

Hey legends, warriors, angels and all round good humans!

This July, we're making a commitment to stay active and walk, run, ride or anything else that involves building up those steps throughout the week to clock our K’s for R U OK? (Can we fit in some acro yoga too...just because?)

We all know people suffering with their mental health, whether we know it or not, and unfortunately many of us have seen where unaddressed mental health problems can lead to.

We can do better, fam!

Which is why, we're taking on the K’s for R U OK? challenge to stay connected, develop good habits, and create a world where we're connected and protected from suicide.

Your support helps R U OK? to provide essential free resources to schools, workplaces, families, and communities across Australia, and empower them to start a conversation that could change the life of someone who's struggling.

Please support our efforts by donating, and together let's get everyone asking R U OK? starting conversations, and changing lives!
