We're clocking K’s for R U OK?
This July, we're joining K’s for R U OK?
The Woodend Neighbourhood House is taking on the challenge to strengthen connections, develop good habits, start meaningful conversations and have some fun as a team.
Each week we'll be clocking the K's we ride or walk to help start more life-changing conversations.
We’d love you to join our team!
Come along to one of our regular walking or cycling groups and help us clock our Ks.
- The Woodend Walkers meet on Tuesdays at 10am at the Woodend Neighbourhood House (47 Forest Street, Woodend) and walk at two paces - medium and leisurely. No registration required
- The Woodend Cycling Group meets on Mondays and Thursdays at 10am at the Woodend Neighbourhood House (47 Forest Street, Woodend. The 'Tour de Woodend' is a riding group for all abilities. The group tends to avoid main roads and may split into two groups. No registration required.
- The Newham Walkers with Dogs meet each Tuesday morning at 9am at a predetermined location and walk along bushland trails for 4km - 5km. Dogs are important members of the group and although it is not essential to bring a dog, an appreciation of our canine companions is a must! Contact the Woodend Neighbourhood House to register your interest and we will pass on your details to the group coordinator who will be in touch.
Please note - our goal for this challenge is to raise awareness of the fantastic work undertaken by the R U OK? team and encourage participation in the walking and cycling groups at the Woodend Neighbourhood House. A financial donation to the K's for R U OK? campaign is entirely optional.
By inspiring people to take the time to ask “Are you OK?” and listen, we can help people struggling with life to feel connected long before they even think about suicide.
