I’m Clocking K’s for R U OK?
Hi everyone, for the month of July I will be raising money and awareness for R U OK? I have a goal of spreading awareness and knowledge on the conversations/stigma surrounding one of the more prevalent health issues of our time.
I firmly believe in healthy habits and building a healthy mind, so I will be trying to run/walk/cycle 150 kilometres across the month to support myself and the cause.
I endeavour to become more active overall. In recent times I have become quite the opposite which has enlightened me on just how important healthy habits can be. The kilometres counted will only include those from extra exercise, not distance travelled throughout a typical day or at work. 150 km in July is the goal, which is just under 5km a day (4.83), about 4km more than I normally do in a day, yikes.
I want to create further awareness for such an impactful organisation and hope to inform and allow people to have conversations with their friends and family about mental health, checking in on others each and every day. To make "those" conversations easier.
I hope that this step I am taking can inspire my friends and family to build healthy habits and learn more about the tools that will help them become more comfortable talking to their friends, family and partners about mental health.
I have a goal to raise $500 for R U OK? Any donations are appreciated, but there is never pressure to donate. If there is anything to take from this, it's to check in with your friends and family, a conversation can completely change a person's outlook.
