I’m Clocking K’s for R U OK?

This July, I’m joining K’s for R U OK? to stay connected, develop healthy habits and help to create a world where we're connected and protected from suicide.

Each week I'll be consistent in my clocking as I walk (run, wheel or ride) to help start more life-changing conversations.

By donating to my page you are helping R U OK? provide free, essential resources to schools, workplaces, families, and communities across Australia. Giving them the tools and confidence to spot the signs and to start a conversation that could change the life of someone who's struggling. And you'll be putting a big smile on my face.

Thank you so much.

By inspiring people to take the time to ask “Are you OK?” and listen, we can help people struggling with life to feel connected long before they even think about suicide.

KM TARGET ACHIEVED

Sunday 28th Jul
A cup of tea, a toasted English muffin with honey. Almost as good as a cuddle.

Have a lovely day, make sure when you are taking care of everyone else that you do something for yourself as well. Don't forget to give a smile to someone. Heads up, it will brighten their day too.

Ouch

Friday 26th Jul

It's OK not to be ok....but talk it through. It's the first step!

Hiatus

Friday 19th Jul
Nothing more annoying than setting a goal and then feeling so unwell that you have to pause. I'm not the most patient person either so I yearn to be back at work, living my best life and kicking goals. Hopefully I can get rid of this pesky virus (currently no voice and a nasty cough) . Thank you for joining me as I strive to complete maybe even exceed my target. But for now I need to rest.
Kaz xx

How was YOUR day?

Wednesday 17th Jul
I hope you are relaxing. Whether that's on the edge of your seat with slice of pizza watching origin, chilling with a glass of red and Netflix or reading a book with a cuppa and a square or two of chocolate.
Another day edging towards the weekend. I hope you take time for yourself. It's not selfish to do so.
Listen to your favourite song and sing like no one can hear you or like you don't care if they do.
Hug someone.
Text someone to let them know you took time out of your day to show you care.
Give a random person a smile. It's contagious they will give it back. If they don't they will still think about your smile so.its a win win.
I hope tomorrow is even better for you xx

Not ok

Wednesday 17th Jul
A day when anything goes and anything did go......
Yet the world keeps spinning and yes at the moment i wont deny it feels like a merry go round that isn't all that merry and the music sounds like the batteries need replacing.
To quote Dory from Finding Nemo..........
"Just keep swimming"
Cause you matter ....to so many people and at the end of each day you need to take a moment or more FOR YOU and realise its another day that you survived  you made it through and you've made someone smile.
Cheers xx

Happy Birthday

Saturday 6th Jul
Dad would have been 75 today.  75. While we should be celebrating that milestone instead we take a moment or more in solace to remember him, his life, the good memories.
It's not fair that he's not here to see his grandchildren grow into the fine young adults they are becoming.
The decision he made that day altered the course for everyone.
While his sadness ended at that moment his pain and suffering transferred to his loved ones left behind.
If you aren't ok. Let someone know.  There's always someone who will listen. "Take a load off"

Ready for day 2

Tuesday 2nd Jul
Woke up a little sore this morning. I was very enthusiastic for kick off yesterday and didn't realise that when I logged my activity for 500m that it actually logged as 500km.
D'oh!! Attention to detail!!
So.......here goes day 2.
Going to take kids to school,  put a massaman beef curry in the slow cooker, then hit the pavement for a river walk. One of my favourite routes to do.
It's OK not to be OK. We are human.
It's not OK to be alone in your struggle. There's always someone who will listen.
A problem shared is a problem halved.

10..5kms down

Monday 1st Jul
Kicked off the first day of July with 10.5.

Going to brave the winter chill tomorrow with a morning walk. Cause why not!!!

It's about reaching out to connect.

You never know who is struggling.
It costs nothing  to be kind.

Enjoy your day tomorrow whatever you choose to do. Just remember. In this world you ARE someone but also to SOMEONE you are THE WORLD. Pay it forward.

Why????

Monday 1st Jul
18 years ago our family unit changed forever. The first question inevitably was "but WHY?".
Even though a note was left, the question still remains.....WHY??
So here's me saying....
WHY NOT tell someone if you aren't ok.
WHY NOT raise awareness for R U OK?
WHY NOT make a difference?
WHY NOT give someone a smile. You just might make a difference in their day.
One day at a time.
Ask someone today......R U OK!!
