I’m Clocking K’s for R U OK?
Friends and Fam! This July, I’m joining K’s for R U OK? to stay connected, develop healthy habits and help to create a world where we're connected and can help one another to avoid the mental darkness that many of us either regularly fall into or have had family members or friends go through their own journey with anxiety or depression.
Each week I'll be consistent in my clocking as I walk, and shuffle (let’s be honest I don’t run… or ride…this girl ain’t made for lycra…) to help start more life-changing conversations. Did I mention I’ve committed to 100kms again this year… 🥵
On a personal note I’m doing this because I myself have struggled with anxiety and depression for quite a significant chunk of my life… I’ve even accessed resources on this page… R U OK day struck a nerve for me many times wanting to reply with “No I’m not ok…”. I’m lucky enough to have a support network around me (that includes you all) and access to psychologists and resources that have built my mental health toolkit over the years… many do not have such a privilege and a conversation could mean more to a person than you know…
By inspiring people to take the time to ask “Are you OK?” and listen, we can help people struggling with life to feel connected again.
